Jamie Foxx started out as a stand-up comedian. He then landed a recurrent role the televison series In Living Color and Roc. From 1996 to 2001, Foxx starred in his own show called The Jamie Foxx Show.
He made his big screen debut in the 1992 comedy Toys. His first dramatic role came in Oliver Stone’s football film Any Given Sunday (1999). His next notable film role was in Michael Mann’s Ali, opposite Will Smith. In 2004, he starred in Collateral alongside Tom Cruise, and in the biopic Ray.
Other films include Jarhead (2005), Dreamgirls (2006), The Kingdom (2007), The Soloist (2009), and Law Abiding Citizen (2009).
